The earliest of arrivals make their way to Puerto Vallarta. Tournament staff will also be on hand well in advance of the event to insure your welcome. No formal events are planned until the Opening Party on Tuesday evening, November 11. However, many players and teams arrive as early as Sunday to play practice rounds and enjoy the fun and sun.
Additional night's accommodation pricing is noted in the "HOTEL" section of this website. This includes breakfast and taxes. Early accommodation and golf is a service handled directly with Championship Golf through the entry process. No need to contact the hotel or golf courses directly as rooms and golf times are being held.
Green fees for golf on Monday and Tuesday are noted in the COURSES page of this website. |

Historically, most of the field arrives either Sunday or Monday. Tournament headquarters are holding rooms and limited golf times for early arrivals. This service is provided through the entry process, and no need to contact the hotel or golf courses directly.
Practice rounds for early arrivals: Most of the field chooses to arrive into Puerto Vallarta one or two days prior to the tournament festivities. This is a great idea. Here are a couple reasons why:
- Arriving the day prior to the event is almost always "fine". However, occasionally people will have flight misconnections, or missing luggage (or clubs!). Planning to come early and extend your trip is always a good idea.
- Take some time to relax and enjoy the hotel, the sun, and Puerto Vallarta.

Gordon Vietmeier came close to winning his 3rd adidas Golf International Pro Am in 2007. He was beaten by Bob Sowards in a close battle down the stretch. Bob has since gone on to qualify for the PGA Tour. Each year there has been an exciting and memorable finish to the event. This year promises to be another great one, with added excitement created with the new Fujikura Senior Bonus Purse.
8:00 PM - 11:00 PM - The adidas Golf International Gala. There is something about the adidas Golf Gala that turns mild-mannered golf pros and executives from middle America into lip sinking, air guitar playing, beach dancing heroes. It may be the ocean breezes. It could even be the inspirational power of TaylorMade - adidas Golf. Let's just say it is a phenomenon. Part of the lore of the tournament! |
